This breathtaking piece of art shows the Massai village person on one side with the bark from the actual ebony tree on the opposite side. You really get to see the artwork at its source. You also get to see how ebony wood becomes darker as the wood reaches the center of the tree and remains lighter on the outside. This carving depicts a Massai warrior in all their traditional garb; including the fancy neckpieces and headbands that are so symbolic to the Massai people. The statue is made from authentic ebony; which is the rarest wood found today, highly valued for its sheen and density. 8.75" tall. Made in Tanzania.
