Years ago, as my wife and I went on a search for items to decorate our new home, we were discouraged to find out that all the interesting décor that we came across was much too expensive for us. It was at that moment that we had an idea: Why not make our own wall decorations? So, that’s what we did, and they became the focal point of our family room.

Soon after, we were getting requests from others who wanted a set of their own. We were able to offer them handcrafted, one-of-a-kind wall hangings that they loved. Since then, we have discovered more beautiful African products from the regions of Africa as well as items from all over the world. At Acacia Wood Carvings, we pride ourselves in allowing anyone to decorate their home with beautiful, unique and affordable products.

Our products are made on the principles of Fair-Trade which is an organized social movement and market-based approach to alleviating global poverty and promoting sustainability. The movement promotes the payment of a fair price as well as social and environmental standards in areas related to the production of a wide variety of goods. It focuses in particular on exports from developing countries to developed countries, most notably handicrafts.

By buying fair trade products you are making a difference in the lives of Artisans not just by paying fair prices but also by bringing them Joy in being able to provide for their families, earn dignity and respect in their community and bringing them hope for the future.
